Come scrivere un "essay" in inglese?

INGLESE LIVELLO B2

Se devi superare un esame di Inglese livello B2, per esempio il First (FCE) della Cambridge o il B2 IESOL, nella scritto, il Writing, dovrai scrivere un "Essay", ossia un tema in inglese, entro un certo numero di parole (150). Ma come si scrive un essay? Vediamolo assieme!

La domanda normalmente è articolata in questo modo:

All children should learn the English language at school – do you agree with this statement? Write an essay.

Lo stile del tema deve essere formale e impersonale. Bisogna quindi

• evitare le contrazioni: es. would not e non wouldn't

• usare preferibilmente la forma passiva invece di quella attiva con i soggetti I e We: es. I believe that...meglio It is believed that...

LA STRUTTURA

1. INTRO: in questo paragrafo, di circa 2 o 3 frasi, introduciamo l'argomento facendo sostanzialmente una parafrasi della domanda e aggiungendo quello di cui parleremo. Cerchiamo quindi di non usare le stesse parole, ma sinonimi, rigirando la frase. ES. Nowadays, one of the most important things at school is for children to learn English. It is known that English is important as a means of communication and that it allows students to increase their chances of getting a good job.
   

2. BODY: è formato da 2 o 3 paragrafi (dipende dalla lunghezza e dai punti che vogliamo toccare nel nostro tema). Nell'esempio sopra ne abbiamo scritti 2: la comunicazione e la possibilità di trovare un buon lavoro, quindi faremo 2 paragrafi, uno per ogni argomento. PAR. 1 ES. Studying a second language at an early age will make it easier and fun. PAR. 2 ES. 3. CONCLUSION: qui possiamo esprimere la nostra opinione in un modo più personale facendo un brevissimo riassunto di quello che abbiamo scritto: ES.
